I have had a lot of people contact me asking about Morgan. I am going to update what has happened over the last 3 days. On Tuesday, Morgan was VERY ill. She had gotten sick on Monday and was unable to keep any food or water down. We had a nurse from Iowa Falls come to our house to draw blood and the doctor in Iowa Falls called and said to get Morgan to the ER. We drove her to the ER in Iowa Falls and started her on IV Fluids. After 4 hours, we needed to transfer her to Covenant in Waterloo. Morgan and I went with the ambulance to Waterloo and Morgan was admitted to the hospital. Morgan continued to get IV fluids due to SEVERE dehydration and poor function in her organs. She received a lot of fluids but her blood work has only improved slightly. We made the decision to return home where we are able to provide her with the pain medication she needs and with treatments that help her body function as well as it can at this point. Her good friend Dr. Jessica has come down from S.Dakota to help Morgan stimulate the lymph system and to provide her with NAET treatments (Energy Balancing). Morgan's mother Lori continues to push nutrition and hydration along with the basic care for Morgan. I continue to stay next to Morgan during the night to provide her with comfort while the rest of her care takers get rest. We are going through a very difficult time but we continue to pray for Morgan and ask God to provide her with pain relief, healing, and peace. We ask that you continue to keep Morgan and her family in your prayers.
Well....if you see the title of a post named FIRED UP... you bet it is good news. I think that a week ago, Morgan was as LOW as someone could go. Hanging on by a thread wouldn't be too far from the truth. In the last couple days, we have seen some changes. One of those changes is the attitude. If you know my wife, she isn't afraid to ask for what she wants. She gets a little FIERY too. I have really seen her engage with Lori and I through out the day and night. She also has begun to drink more milk and eat a little more food (soup mostly). She also has some SPUNK that we haven't seen in a while. We are BLESSED! GOD is GOOD! Thank you for all the prayers!! Keep them coming!!
Today, I went to Waterloo to pick up scripts for Morgan and took Jag to his 7 year old school physical. Jag is in the 88th percentile in height and weight. Morgan slept most of the day as her body continues to change with help from her PNC27 medication. Lori continues to provide many therapies for Morgan and is working hard to maintain a positive outlook for Morgan. I am very thankful for the meal trains that River's Edge members set up for our family. The cards continue to come in the mail and it just shows me how lucky we are to have such amazing people in our lives. Thank you all.
I want to share this story, because I think its important to get this information out to people. Here is the website that provides a lot more information than I can possible post. www.hope4cancer.com/ In November of 2009, Morgan was first diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. For 4 months, she was given conventional medicine. Chemotherapy and many other drugs were used to fight the cancer. In March of 2010, Morgan was declared to be cancer free. I will never forget the doctor saying that the cancer will most likely come back. What a terrible thing to have to live with, but Morgan and I had to move forward with our lives. When Tyce was born in 2012, Morgan knew that the cancer had come back. It was at that time, she vowed to not use conventional medicine (It made her feel HORRIBLE). From 2012-2014, we watched and waited. In 2014, Morgan began to have symptoms that the cancer was progressing. It was during this time, we knew we needed to come back home to Alden. We were fortunate enough to make that happen. I won't get into all the treatments that Morgan did from 2014-2016 but it included many different therapies and non-conventional treatments. I am going to skip ahead to June of 2016, less than 2 months ago. We were in Chicago for IPT treatments and Morgan happened to be at the same clinic as another chiropractor named Dr. Charles Majors. He beat stage 4 brain cancer, and wrote a book called "The Cancer Killers". Morgan had been in contact with Dr. Majors and it was during this time that Dr. Majors said to get to Mexico. Morgan's cancer was progressing and was the most aggressive it had been over the last 7 years. We left for Cancun, Mexico on June 12th. We only were there for 3 days when the clinic made us go to another Hope4Cancer clinic in Tijuana, Mexico. The Hope4Cancer clinic in Tijuana had rooms on site and medical personnel available 24/7. It was not what we wanted, but thank GOD, we went because it was during day 4 in Tijuana, that Morgan began having symptoms of a blood clot in the middle of the night. The doctors in Tijuana called an ambulance and we left to go to San Diego in hopes of having surgery on Morgan's blood clot. I will continue the story from San Diego until the present another time because I want to focus on the HOPE4CANCER aspect of Morgan's treatment. Morgan is still receiving daily treatment for her cancer at home. One of the main cancer killers is called PNC27. Morgan and I fully believe that the cancer will be eradicated from her body through this treatment. We believe we have turned the corner slightly on the uptick. I will continue to blog about Morgan and her journey. Please check out the HOPE4CANCER website to learn more about alternative cancer treatments. Morgan received such a generous donation yesterday that just made her tear up. After Jaime's bridal shower (Morgan's soon to be sister in law), Jaime was talking with her mother about Morgan and all the things that our family and friends have been setting up for her (GoFundMe, Food Train, and planning for a banquet in Webster City). Jadyn (Jaime's 10 year old niece) sat and listened and asked the occasional questions. Before Jaime left to head back to Iowa Falls, Jadyn came over to her and sat down a heaping pile of wadded up cash. She took the money out of her piggy bank and wanted to contribute it to Morgan's fund. A donation of $19! Such a big heart she has in her! Its acts of kindness like this that completely humble our family. Thank you so much Jadyn. You will never know how much this means to us. Love you all.
If you would have told Morgan a year ago that she was going to lose weight, she probably would have been super excited. As of right now, Morgan has lost the weight.... but now we are fighting to put weight back on. The last month, we have been working on her drinking high calorie milk/heavy cream/protein drinks. She is a trooper as the drinks are not amazing tasting. Lymph nodes around her left jaw swelled up the last three days, making swallowing a hard task, but through the use of essential oils (Tangerine, Orange, Grapefruit) and laser therapy, the lymph nodes has reduced in size. Lori is amazing at keeping Morgan's therapies on schedule and helping me stay organized (I have always said she is an angel sent from God). Morgan also is eating some bites of soups made by her mother and her Aunt Donna. We continue to push calories as Morgan is in need of strength to continue to fight the cancer. Like always we are blessed to have such an amazing family and group of friends who are here to support us in so many ways. For those things, Morgan and I can't possibly say thank you enough. Please continue to say prayers for Morgan's complete healing. Love you all. As Morgan continues to fight her cancer, she is surrounded by her loved ones. Kesley, her sister, came back to Alden to help treat Morgan with NAET, laser, and other therapies. Lori, Morgan's mother, continues to push Morgan to eat and to treat as many times during the day as Morgan's body will allow. Yesterday, Morgan also was visited by a long time friend of the family and her brother and sister in law. For around an hour, Morgan was surrounded by people who love her and care for her greatly. Together, we asked God to heal Morgan. We asked God to help the treatments to do their job and destroy the cancer. We continue to ask that everyone who reads this blog, continues to pray for healing. Morgan is a fighter but she needs everyone's help in order to defeat this enemy. We also want to thank everyone that has sent cards, gave gifts of money, brought food, and reached out to Morgan during this time. Morgan and her family are blessed to have such amazing support. We Love you all. Exodus 15:26 I am the Lord who heals you. This is Ben, to update everyone on what is going on with Doc. Last night was a pretty rough night. It seemed like every hour, Morgan was up and uncomfortable. Large amounts of oxycontin are still not enough to control the pain sometimes and we have to resort to position changes, ice, and holding hands. Fortunately, today brought a little bit of positivity. Morgan drank milk pretty well and ate a little bit of her mother's potato soup. This is critical as Morgan has lost a tremendous amount of weight/strength and needs all the calories she can intake. Morgan received more PNC27 (alternative cancer treatment) and other therapies to help her body shed toxins (Thank God for her mother to help do this!) She had a good 2 hour afternoon nap and is now sitting in the chair in our living room watching her favorite tv show, The Young and the Restless. I also want to thank everyone for the cards that have been sent. We appreciate everyone thinking about Morgan and praying for her during this time. A good friend from our church set up meals to be delivered and we are very thankful for all the people we know, sacrificing for us. A group of former Midwest Rampage football teammates has offered to put on a benefit supper for my wife as well. For all of these things, we are humbled and very grateful. We continue to pray for complete healing and a full recovery. Thanks to all who are impacting our lives.
It has been a few days since we have updated Morgan's status and I wanted to continue to inform our family and friends so we can continue to pray very hard for my wife, asking God for complete healing. I (Ben) am filling in for Morgan as she is in a state of resting and sleeping most of the day. With the help of her alternative cancer medications (PNC 27) and holistic treatments (NAET, Laser therapies, PMEF, etc), her body is in a battle right now to destroy the cancer . Anyone who goes through cancer treatments knows how difficult it can be as the body fights the disease. I know for a fact that her mother (Lori) is an angel. Lori has been by Morgan's side from 9am to 10 pm everyday, helping me to take care of Morgan. Lori has a healing touch and she has been given a gift to treat with Morgan and pray with her, constantly reinforcing the fact that Morgan will get better. Monday and Tuesday were very tough days, but today has been better. My family knows that it's because of all the prayers that people have sent Morgan's direction and we ask that all of our family and friends continue to ask God for complete healing. Psalm 30:2 "O Lord my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me." Well, this morning was a surprise. Yesterday, I wrote a blog post about what was happening in my life and my current health situation. All the prayers made a huge difference as I was able to flex my toes a little bit this morning. This may sound like a small accomplishment but since the middle of June, my right leg has been paralyzed from the hip down. The lymphoma has grown around my nerves and the blood vessels in my hip joint and has created some issues for my leg. Not only has my leg been paralyzed but I have severe pain. The pain is a 10/10 most of the day but is managed with pain medications. If you know me, taking any medication is not at the top of my list of things I would like to do, but at this time, I am working on improving the health of my leg and trying to get off of the pain medication as fast as possible. The movement in my toes tells me that I am going in the right direction. With your continued prayers, I feel like God will continue to watch over me and give me strength during this time. Thank you to everyone for your support. |
